AMD Expands to Midwest Rocky Mountain Region, Offering English and Spanish Certificate Courses
by cogopamd
Accredited Ministry Development of the Church of God of Prophecy announced on Wednesday the expansion of the Certificate in Wesleyan-Pentecostal Ministry program to the Midwest Rocky Mountain Region (Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska).
Offered through a collaboration with the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, the program is designed to equip laity and ministers who are actively serving or called to serve in their local communities, with training that is theologically sound and practical in nature.
“I am grateful to our Lord for allowing us this opportunity,” said Regional Overseer Jesse Yanez. “I have been working on bringing something like this to our region for the last five years.”
Through the program, select courses will be offered online in English and Spanish and will include supplemental on-site intensives within each state of the region. Students enrolled in the region’s program will also have access and opportunity to participate in additional courses offered online through AMD, outside of their regional courses.
“The expansion of our program into the Midwest Region is truly exciting because it affirms our vision of serving alongside our national/regional/state offices in developing educational programs for our leaders that are both accessible and contextual,” said Shaun McKinley, director of AMD. “There is also reason to celebrate because this partnership makes way for our first online Spanish course to be offered for our constituents this Spring.”
The region’s inaugural courses, “Pentecostal Worship and Liturgy/Liturgia Y Espiritualidad Pentecostal” will begin online on March 19 with LIVE intensives scheduled throughout the following weeks.
Students enrolling in the regional program will receive a 50% tuition scholarship from the International Offices, making each course $150. Additional scholarships are available to students who qualify. For a limited time, AMD will also pay the application fee for those applying online and using enrollment code “MIDWEST.” This is an additional savings of $50.
Those interested in learning more about the program can visit www.cogopamd.org/midwest. To join the inaugural cohort in March, students should apply by February 1.
The Diploma in Wesleyan-Pentecostal Ministry is a non-degree pre-seminary qualifying program for those who are seeking to expand their theological education. Upon successful completion, the student will be able to apply to any Master’s Degree at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. This 90-unit program is certified by the Association for Hispanic Theological Education (AETH) and approved by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in the United States and Canada.
The Pentecostal Theological Seminary has been approved by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), the major, national accrediting agency for more than 270 graduate seminaries in the United States and Canada, to offer the said degree programs “fully online.” The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), has also granted the seminary permission to offer them fully online.
